International Collaboration: Video Summary

In this Q&A video, Director, Dr. Roland vanOostveen is asked about the EILAB’s mission to pursue international collaboration.

About Dr. Roland vanOostveen, Director, EILAB

As the Director of the EILAB at the Faculty of Education, UOIT, Dr. Roland vanOostveen programatically extends the rich affordances of the EILAB to a growing community of international researchers. In 2015, he represented UOIT in the formalization of a unique research partnership between UOIT and Kyiv National Economic University, Kyiv, Ukraine. This is the first such partnership between UOIT and a former Soviet republic, and it is especially timely given Ukraine’s democratic aspirations.

Dr. vanOostveen’s major research interests lie in the use of technology in collaborative-constructivist learning, the use of action research as a mechanism for the professional development of teachers, and the use of video cases in teacher professional learning.
