Bill Hunter was the founding Dean of Education at UOIT. Previously, he was Professor of Education at the University of Calgary and held several leadership roles there. Before that, he held academic posts in Ohio, Rhode Island, and Nova Scotia.
He has done research on educational technology, on moral development, and on educational assessment. His current interests are issues in ICT policy implementation internationally, prosocial applications of ICT in schools, and educational research skills as a key element in teacher professional development. He has served as reviewer, board member, and editor for academic journals—most notably as editor of the Canadian Journal of Education.
Bill received the Ph.D. in educational psychology from Kent State University in 1974.
